Supposed to be my 3d/4d ultrasound but based on the diagnosis of the Ob-gyn, I lack enough amount of amniotic fluid so that the ultrasound will be successful (or it will be a waste of money for us). I’ll have to drink lots of water – at least 2 liters per day for 1 week (which I normally consume…) Anyway, I’ll try again next week… See you soon Baby Girl!

May 22, 2014 UST ER (part 2)

My constipation got worsens since my pregnancy starts. My OB suggested the following
1. Eat pineapple, papaya and fruits with fiber – I eat pineapple after meal (lunch) in our office, it didn’t help me
2. Drink lots of water – I usually consume 3L per day and sometimes more
3. Eat Prune, trail mix…
4. C-lium fiber
5. Lots of green leafy vegie
6. Yakult, yoghurt
7. Cereal, oat meal

And she prescribe a fiber capsule for me to consume for 30 days – it didn’t help

And if you ask me how worse my constipation is… if with medication, I can last more than One week without bowel movement!

And we end up with Dulcolax suppository which I will use every 3-4 days – a reliever!

But today, is one of my worst nightmares. From 10:30 pm (may 21) up to 2:00 am (may 22) I’ve been locked up inside the toilet, trying to deal this problem alone. But since I’m scared to death with every “hilab” of my tummy… which affect my baby inside… I didn’t try to “push” the thing behind me. And I can’t… I don’t have to explain further since the topic is too uncomfortable. I wake up my husband to give me support… He did prepare a warm water to ease my pain below… and help with everything he can… But since I’m too tired and it’s painful and I’m very scared, we decided to go to the hospital.

We arrived before 3:00 am in the ER. The nurse & intern interview us immediately, and then send me to the Delivery Room… I thought to myself, “I’m not going to give birth… I’m still 32 weeks… it’s only constipation”. The delivery room is located at 3rd floor. I was instructed to change into a gown and my husband was left behind in a waiting area. I lay down in a bed at the labor room, the resident doctor place a device in my tummy – a Nonstress test (NST) to check the baby’s heart rate (which cost me P655). Then after completing a 20 mins test, next an Internal Exam (IE) was done (which cost me P55 for the gloves). She can’t check me fully since there is a lump blocking her way which is my poop stuck in my rectum.

The resident doctor called my Ob-gyn and as for further instruction. They gave me a shot from behind with fleet enema (which cost me P355). Fleet Enema is a saline laxative that works by drawing water into the colon which helps produce a bowel movement. Their instruction is try to hold the medicine as long as I can so that it works with the hard stool. But after 15 mins or 10 mins I can no longer stop myself from running to the comfort room. I stayed there more than 30 mins trying to free myself from hard stool that blocking my rectum. I’m so scared but since I’m in the hospital, whatever happen (If I bleed in case) the help is present. Finally, I’m relieved!

I went back to the bed, and the doctor did another Internal Exam (IE) (which cost me another P55 for the gloves). Since I’m 32 weeks, the checking is hurting since she tries to reach it. Afterwards, upon checking that me and my baby are okey now… they asked me I want to be admitted for further monitoring. I answered NO (because it’s out of our budget), and asked if I could rest at home. We pay for the procedure (P125) then leave the hospital and arrived home almost 5:00 am.

The total cost = P1,245 + Professional fee of P500

May 24, 2014 Check up with Dra. Fernandez of UST

We’ve waited for 4 hours (11:00 – 3:00 pm) before my consultation start (Dra arrived late and I’m 5th from the line up… I have a meeting with the TSG – my department, by 2:00 pm… ending I can’t catch up since we will be coming from España and the venue of the meeting is in Ayala Makati).

There’s nothing new with the procedure:
1. weigh in
2. blood pressure
3. Doppler for heart beat
4. size of the baby
5. a little bit conversation discussing my constipation – prescription to use Fleet Enema in case Dulcolax Suppository won’t work
6. prescribing my vitamins – Prenat & Molvite

June 17, 2014 I’m having difficulty walking, sitting, lying in the bed… due to the “heaviness” between my legs. Some say (based on their experience) that this is a symptoms that i’ll give birth within the week.

June 18, 2014 To calm ourselves, me and my husband travel back to Pampanga to have it check by our OB (since my OB in UST is currently out of the country). We carried all the things I needed if ever I have to stay in Pampanga. But before that, I have my FBS test as requested by my OB then went straight to her clinic.

She checked me with IE, and felt my poop and prescribe some Fibrosine to help me (issue with constipation). The baby is safe and I will deliver on July… her position is to far. I’ll see her after a week. So we went back to Manila.
