Sagada – spelunking

March 28, 2013 2:30 pm we arrived in Sagada after… hmm… 15 hours of exhausting bus and jeepney ride with restroom breaks, eateries and viewpoint stop-over.

We check-in in a private house adjacent to Sagada Homestay which we reserved earlier prior to our trip and then exchange our clothes for caving tour later on.

We inquire in Tourism information in Municipal hall of Sagada for tour guides.

They quote us for the following:
Sumaguing cave guide fee P1000 for 6 pax
There are two options for caving – short (Sumaguing cave) and long (cave connection) trail. Since we arrived late in Sagada, we registered for 5:00 pm  Sumaguing Cave tour (as they suggested).

Next day tour (based on our itinerary)
Sunrise at Kiltepan – P500 for transpo
Bomod-ok Falls – P650 for transpo + guide fee
Echo valley, underground, bokong falls – P600 for guide
Sunset at Lake Danum – P500 for transpo

We ate first our super late lunch at Masferre (suggested restaurant in travel blogs). Then proceed to the Tourism center for caving. Our guide suggest that we ride rather than walk for 45 mins since its already late (4:45 pm) – cut-off time 5:00 pm. The van transpo cost us P350. We stop-by in a rice terraces viewpoint for photo-op and continue to Sumaguing Cave.

After spelunking, we wash-up and cost us P5 per 1 liter of water. The Entrance and Exit (same) is full of holy Sh** from above (bats) and if you are lucky, it will fall to you.

We drop by at Homestay to wash-up totally before dinner. We were thankful that a water heater is present in our accommodation or we will freeze to death 😛

And dine again in Masfarre for dinner (since its late and we were too exhausted to look for another eatery).

End of our Day 1 in Sagada
